Recently India is playing against Sri Lanka in their own country. The Indian team had amazing time until now. Indian Cricket team white washed Sri Lanka in the test series and it’s leading by 4-0 in the ODI series.

But, an important player has left right before the last ODI against Sri Lanks.

Shikhar Dhawan goes home

On the eve of India’s final ODI, the opener Shikhar Dhawan left the team to be with his ailing mother. India will play fifth and final ODI match on Sunday at Colombo.

“Indian opener Shikhar Dhawan will leave for home on Sunday to attend to his ailing mother,” the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) said in a statement. “His mother is stable and recovering well.”

The selection committee hasn’t declared any name for the replacement yet, though. But it would either be KL Rahul or Ajinkya Rahane.

The form

Here’s cricketer’s take on Dhawan’s recent form. The left-hander since his comeback to the national team in the Champions Trophy played earlier this year has been in phenomenal form. He has stroked his way to 2 centuries and 4 half centuries in 14 matches accumulating 689 runs at 53. Dhawan has looked comfortable at the crease and played his natural attacking game. The intent to play aggressive shots has helped the team dominate the innings right from the onset.

As far as the Sri Lanka ODI series is concerned, he has been able to maintain the form having clobbered the Lankan bowlers for his 11th ODI century, staying unbeaten on 132. He followed it up with a knock of 49 at Pallekele and has returned with single digit figures in the last two ODIs.

The last ODI

We just hope India plays well in the last ODI and white wash Sri Lanka yet again. We also hope Dhawan’s mother gets well soon. Here’s sending her lots of strength.
